Political Career

Governor Humerlito “Bonz” Atienza Dolor Province of Oriental Mindoro

Humerlito Atienza Dolor, more fondly known in the province of Oriental Mindoro as “Bonz” (for bunso), is the youngest of four children of Tony and Estrellita Dolor.

Bonz’ three decades of distinguished public service traces its roots to 1992 when he was elected as Chairman for the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of barangay Adrialuna in Naujan.

Four years into the job, he rose the ranks to become SK Provincial Federation President; paving the way for him a seat at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Oriental Mindoro as an Ex-Officio Member.

At the age of 24, Bonz set a record as the youngest Board Member ever to be elected in the province. Not too long after, he was elected National Chairman of the Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines a day he turned 30 in November 2007.

As history would have it, in May 2010, Bonz became the youngest elected Vice Governor of Oriental Mindoro, a position he won unopposed for three consecutive terms—making him the only Vice Governor of the Province to hold that unparalleled distinction.

In the 2019 midterm elections, he once again made local political history by clinching a landslide win as the new Governor of Oriental Mindoro with a massive 95.695 vote margin over his opponent.

Bonz’ latest win cemented his commitment to good public service and dedication to transformational leadership. It also speaks loud of Mindoreños yearning for genuine and meaningful change.

Two years under Gov Bonz’ administration saw some of the most far-reaching, multi-sectoral, and inclusive growth and development the provincial government and the province of Oriental Mindoro have ever witnessed.

This 2022, will you join Gov Bonz Dolor to continue what he has started, a movement where your needs and wants come first!
